Under the direction of the Administrative Assistant for Water Services, the Water Services Support Clerk is responsible for performing various administrative, financial, clerical and dispatching duties that assist with the support of the Water and Wastewater Divisions, including the 552 Plinguet, Water Treatment Plant, Greater Winnipeg Water Distribution (GWWD) Railway and Shoal Lake Intake sites.

**As the**_- Water Services Support_**_ _**you will**:

- Provides a broad range of administrative and clerical support for the Water and Wastewater Services Divisions.
- Provides a broad range of support for the operations of the Water and Wastewater Services Division.
- Assists with financial management for the Water and Wastewater Divisions.
- Assists with building maintenance, safety and facility parking.
- Stores Assistance

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Grade 12 or an equivalent of education and experience in a business or office administration role.
- Certificate or diploma in Business Administration or Office Administration, is preferred
- Railway Operating rules for the GWWD railway, is preferred.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods training, is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an office or business administration role.
- Experience operating a variety of standard office equipment (ex. printer, photocopier, laminator, fax etc.).
- Experience with general office procedures, filing system maintenance, telephone answering procedures and customer service techniques.
- Experience maintaining accurate, legible records and files.
- Experience dealing with confidential matters in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) using a discreet and logical manner
- Experience organizing and planning work, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and undertaking assigned responsibilities and special projects with mínimal supervision and direction.
- Experience performing miscellaneous clerical tasks consistent with the classification, as required
- Advanced computer skills to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Office Suite tools (Office 365, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, One Drive) in accordance with Departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Verint, TKMMS, WIS/MOM, Peoplesoft HR, Peoplesoft Finance and Synergen/OWAM.
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures, practices, and systems, is preferred.
- Ability to create and receive purchase orders, route invoices and create journal entries using PeopleSoft Finance.
- Ability to develop skills and perform new duties including learning other databases and software programs, and adapt to new technology.
- Ability to work both independently with mínimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Ability to identify issues, problem solve, and exercise sound judgement.
- Ability to gather and share information and follow procedures under stressful or emergent situations.
- Ability to maintain composure and deal tactfully and diplomatically with a wide range of customers, sometimes under stressful conditions.
- Ability to analyze financial information, perform reconciliations, prepare reports, and complete accurate mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the occupational hazards, safety precautions, regulations and procedures that are applicable to the area of work.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow direction both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, suppliers and external contacts including the public in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.
- Knowledge of Water and Waste Department functions and By-Laws, is preferred.
