As a **Safety Coordinator**, you will be responsible for providing training and guidance to new drivers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to safely operate commercial vehicles. The Driver Trainer will deliver full driver orientation within a classroom setting. As a member of the Safety team and strong team player, you also ensure to work on any projects required by the Safety Manager.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Conducting all driver orientation, delivered in a classroom setting and additional or seasonal training as needed.
- Plan, develop and implement training strategies.
- Actively contribute to a Safety-First culture by endorsing and enforcing all safety related initiatives. Communicating the importance of safety to all current and newly hired drivers.
- Identifying unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes, identify corrective action.
- Contacting drivers as directed by the Safety Manager to verbally deliver reminders and / or updates on new procedures impacting drivers or safety related issues such as speeding, out of service and tickets.
- Mentoring drivers on fuel efficiency, reducing idle time and safe driving.
- Facilitate and perform in-cab driving assessments for potential new hires.
- Provide remedial training, in-cab coaching and mentoring of drivers as required.
- Review training records submitted by trainers and file appropriately.
- Support all aspects of driver relationships, including supporting disciplinary processes, mentoring, and coaching drivers, and identifying training needs.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding trainee personnel, sensitive information and company information.
- Support policy development and effectively incorporate all policies and procedures into training programs.
- Stay up to date with current industry standards and work practices.
- Actively participate in incident and accident investigations, as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge with all Health and Safety Regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of the National Safety Code and FMCSA Regulations.
- Represent our values and integrity.

- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong computer and administration skills.
- Prove strength in communication and relation building
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Transportation Industry is required
- Some post-secondary education is an asset
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada
- Class one license - nice to have but not required.

**Shift Timing**: 8AM - 5PM Monday - Friday

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
