As a Data Analytics Student, you will provide support to the Infrastructure Operations (IO) Section to help develop a performance management framework. This project aims to implement an integrated performance management framework for IO consisting of five core components: data structures, data visualization, operational link, benchmarking and season-end report card, to enable the user to make better decisions and reach more informed decisions about their service performance.

**As a core part of the project team, the co-op student will help**:

- Evaluate various data gathering systems and tools and recommend the most appropriate tool for data collection
- Assist in coordinating user acceptance testing with the business and help champion key performance measurement educational workshops
- Support with optimizing KPI reporting for operations, including support with creating dashboards in Tableau or Data Studio
- Loading historical data into SQL database
- Shadow core IT team in order to help with database and dashboard maintenance
- Assist with data cleaning, synthesis and analysis
- Assist with researching external benchmarking programs and new technologies that will be useful for operations or performance reporting
- Other related duties as required

Note: This position will be a combination of working from home and on-site working conditions.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in a computer science or related co-op or equivalent post-secondary work experience degree program
- Ability to conduct research, and provide detailed analysis of information
- Strong computer skills including experience in Tableau or similar visual analytics tools
- Experience in SQL
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in the absence of a supervisor
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
- Experience with Google Apps Scripts and AppSheet are considered assets

**Hours of Work**: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

**Salary**:$21.545 - $25.135 (Hourly)
