**Job Summary**:
While not an exhaustive list, Emergency Management students will assist with the following tasks:

- Collect, compile and analyse information in order to assess credibility and threat and establishing an appropriate course of action;
- Conduct sensitive research and analysis;
- Evaluate, assess complex data and provide information analysis by preparing reports and providing recommendations to relevant stakeholders;
- Respond to crises and emerging national security events, as well as potentially plan, organize and coordinate associated activities;
- Keep abreast of current events happening globally with possible impacts on Canada’s national security;
- Assist with projects and presentations to internal and external stakeholders;
- Coordinate and review Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP);
- Develop and coordinate corporate and operational exercises;
- Provide support when the Service’s emergency plans and procedures are in use.

**Education**:
Registered full time in a College Diploma or Undergraduate degree program (including but not limited to) in the following areas of study:

- Emergency Management / Disaster Recovery
- 911 Call Center Program
- Psychology
- International relations
- Political Science

**Experience**:

- Experience may have ben acquired through formal and informal settings (e.g. school, volunteer work experience or projects)
- Experience in conducting research from various sources and analyzing the information in order to draw inferences or make recommendations verbally or in writing
- Experience in the delivery of client service (interacting and communicating) with employees at all levels, visitors as well as members of the public
- Experience in working in a high pressure environment, such as a call centre, an operations or crisis centre, etc.
- Ability to work with fellow team members and team supervisors to solve issues or problems;
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations

**Conditions of Employment**:
Applicants must be registered as a full-time, post-secondary student in an accredited academic institution recognized in Canada. Priority consideration may be given to those enrolled in an accredited co-op/internship program.

Must work shifts based on a 24/7 schedule.
