**ONE (1) TEMPORARY FULL-TIME FACILITIES SUPPORT SPECIALIST**

**CORPORATE SERVICES (15 Months)**

**NBRHC - NORTH BAY
Reporting to the Manager of Building, Parking & Security Services, the Facilities Support Specialist oversees the
efficient operation of NBRHC’s security systems (infant abduction & elopement systems, card access control & CCTV
systems, staff safety and parking systems). The Facilities Support Specialist will identify issues of concerns, provide
solutions, troubleshoot and conduct repairs as necessary. This position will scope and coordinate operational and
capital projects related to facility security infrastructure.

**FURTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: **

Developing policies and procedures around the use of NBRHC’s security systems.

Involved in hospital investigations related to facility security systems.

Liaising with Information Technology, Information Systems, Security and Building Maintenance.

Liaising with service contractors, and installing equipment where applicable.

Liaising with industry representatives to keep abreast of technical security advances.

Providing training and technical support to user departments for security related needs.

Reviewing strategic departmental plans and developing decision support goals for projects, target
inefficiencies and implementing capital improvements for the department.

Other duties as assigned.

**THE ORGANIZATION**

North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is a unique health care organization with three primary roles:
providing acute care services to North Bay and its surrounding communities, functioning as the district referral

centre providing specialist services for smaller communities in the area, and it’s the specialized mental health

service provider serving all of northeast Ontario. At more than 400 beds, our state-of-the-art regional health

centre has over 150 physicians, 2300 employees and 250 volunteers.

**QUALIFICATIONS: **

Graduate of recognized Community College Program or equivalent required. 
CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) and ITIL Foundation certification required. 
Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience in security technology required. 
Demonstrated ability to program/service the following: closed circuit TV (CCTV), access control systems,

security databases, static security devices required. 

Working technical knowledge of networking required. 
Advanced analytical and creative problem solving skills required. 
Excellent attendance and work record required. 
Demonstrated interpersonal skills required. 
Ability to work independently without direct supervision. 
Ability to travel to satellite locations (King Street, CCAC, Kirkwood Drive). 
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this

organization.** **

Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset 
Experience leading and operationalizing projects related to security system upgrades
