**Job Purpose**

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the human resources systems within the Company. This position maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, creating and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, safety and practices. The HR manager is the go-to person for all employee-related issues. This role supports the company’s strategic goals while monitoring and advising on legal compliances. The HR Managers areas of responsibility involve, but not limited to, health & safety, job design, recruitment, communications, employee relations, attendance management, performance management, training & development and talent management.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manages the recruitment and selection process, internally and externally.
- Prepares employment offer letters for new hires and conducts reference and background checks as needed.
- Prepares new hire packages and documentation sign offs.
- Prepares new employees by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers / supervisors to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
- Collaborates with the Sr. Finance/ Operations Manager to maintain employee benefits program and informs employees; recommending benefit programs to owners; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; designing and conducting educational programs about benefits.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements, conducting investigations and maintaining records.
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
- Implementing and revising a company’s compensation program.
- Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions.
- Creating and revising job descriptions with executive team.
- Maintains and updates employment contracts as needed.
- Maintaining and revising the company’s handbook and health & safety manual on policies and procedures.
- Manage the WSIB and return to work program.
- Overseeing exit interviews.
- Maintaining department and employee records and reports.
- Maintaining HRIS software
- ensuring accurate and timely updating of employee data
- Monitors vacation, sick leave, and leave of absences.
- Prepares employee termination and separation packages, letters and related documentation.
- Nurture a positive working environment with employee recognition and reward programs.
- Collaborates with executives on executing performance appraisal system.
- Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Lead by example.
- Holds others and self-accountable to gaps in performance.

**Qualifications**
- Must have 5 +years of Human Resources administrative experience.
- CHRP or CHRL designation and / or education, training and minimum of 5 years’ experience in;
Recruitment and Selection, Human Resources Management, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Employment Law, Organizational Development, Attendance Management, Occupational Health & Safety, WSIB, Disability Management, Rewards and Recognition and Training and Development.
