**About the role**
- Responsible for overseeing the development of proposal development strategies by working with cross-functional team to ensure delivery to long-range plan.
- Works with potential airline and lessor third party customers to identify and develop creative business solutions for engine maintenance of their fleet and/or specific engines.
- Lead the customer solutions team to optimize technical inputs relative to cost and price.
- Plays a key role in the creation and implementation of new products, services, business program enhancements, and sales pursuit strategies.
- Ensures the logical conversion of customer requirements into system solutions that increase the probability of win for the organization.
- Participates as a key member of the contract negotiating team.
- Facilitates program implementation with internal teams following contract execution.
- Develop lasting relationships with potential and new customers that enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Bring innovative solutions to improve program performance and participate in solving complex commercial issues.
- Develop and improve competitive bidding process for customer specific requirements to align to internal reviews.
- Utilize industry data and technical knowledge to liaise with cross functional teams to incorporate best practices and ensure continued competitiveness.
- Provides feedback and post-mortem analysis after campaign losses and wins.
- Responsible for recruitment, selection, performance assessment, work assignments, recognition, and disciplinary action of subordinate employees.
- Provides direction and daily oversight of Solutions Engineers and Market Research Analysts assigned to the Business Development capture team.

**What you bring to the role**
- Engineering degree from an accredited university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10-15 years of professional experience
- 5-7 years experience in external customer relationships
- 3-5 years experience in Engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) or commercial airline
- In-depth knowledge of aviation proposals and contracts
- Strong negotiating skills and able to navigate in ambiguity
- Strategic communication skills including the ability to solve technical or process conflicts within the scope of your mandate
- Ability to reconcile the interests of different departments or functions (engineering, operations, customer service, etc.) to a common goal
- Posses a strategic mindset and strong influential leadership qualities
- Ability to think independently and proactively implement effective solutions that promote new ideas
- Experience leading projects and cross-functional teams
- Comfortable conversing with and presenting to mid-level and C-suite executives

**Additional skills desired for the role**
- Specific knowledge of CFM and GE engines and their operation
- Fluent in English and French (preferred)
- Knowledge of Work-Scoping for MRO gas turbine engine services
- Extensive background and experience with commercial airlines and engine MRO customers
