**As a Manager, Indigenous Relations & Community Development**:
You will report to the Vice President, Business Banking Support. The Manager, Indigenous Relations & Community Development provides leadership with balance and effective advocacy for success in developing new business partnerships within Indigenous markets and communities. You will develop and build strategies and partnerships with Indigenous groups with trust and cultural respect. In this role, you will support business development efforts for Meridian’s various lines of business with specific focus to Business Banking by developing and managing outreach initiatives and communications with key Indigenous partners, government, community, industry organizations and representatives.

**What you will do**:

- Leadership/Partnership_
- Lead as primary point of contact for business development and community support for Indigenous businesses, communities and their leaders. Serve as liaison with members and represent Meridian as an ally, advocate and partner with Indigenous communities across Canada, with primary focus on the Province of Ontario
- Develop and maintain strategic and trusting relationships to enhance Meridian's role as partner with Indigenous entities.
- Build strong and trusting relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, along with internal/external stakeholders.
- Assist leadership in prioritizing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
- Represent Meridian on key industry partnerships (i.e., Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, First Nations Bank of Canada, various Indigenous Economic Development Corps, Raven Indigenous Fund, etc.) and other representative councils and organizations.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction across business lines to achieve organizational strategy.
- Innovation/Strategy_
- Develop and execute our ESG strategy and related materials for internal review and consideration.
- Functional Accountabilities _
- Lead internal collaboration and alignment of communications, as related to Indigenous business community and other stakeholder relations.
- Promote and build a loan and deposit portfolio for Indigenous businesses including the build out of new reporting to track progress on growth of these segments.
- Track and monitor the progress of the strategies and initiatives against KPI’s, metrics and critical measures of success associated with the original objectives and desired outcomes.
- Evaluate progression of strategy against enterprise measures and balanced scorecard.

- Demonstrated success in growing a business portfolio in developing new business opportunities in the community, and ensuring member banking needs are met at the highest level.
- Direct experience and involvement in business development and client services.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

- Demonstrated leadership success in development and execution of business plans to land business the “right” way in service of members, community and the enterprise.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to proactively lead initiatives.
- Entrepreneurial minded and results oriented.
- Excellent analytical abilities to analyze trends and key performance indicators.
- Ability to work and communicate successfully with Senior Executives and Officials in order to build relationships and rapport for business development purposes.
- Demonstrated advocacy and promotion of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging & Reconciliation (DEIBR) as guiding principles to attract and develop business and partnerships.
