Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. The Squamish Nation has occupied and governed the territory since beyond recorded history. The Squamish Nation's culture is rich and resilient. We continue to practice our customs and traditions, which are strongly interconnected with our traditional territory. Together with our lands, our customs and traditions are the foundations of who we are as Skwxwú7mesh.

As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 12 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.

**About The Opportunity**:
Working as an integral part of the Ta7lnewas Education Employment and Training Department, this position reports directly to the Principal, Xwemelch'stn Etsimxwawtxw Capilano Little Ones, and under the direction of the Primary Teachers, the ECE/Language Assistant is responsible for providing specialized teaching strategies, curriculum and physical or behavioural supports to support the inclusion of student/s. This position has a proficient command of the Squamish Language to support classroom curriculum content development, and language work required to support program goals. In addition, the position entails direct work with the school team to achieve goals building capacity in language to support the school growth plan. This position encourages children’s intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. Maintains professional growth plan, and professional standards as per requirements of the BC Ministry of Education standards.

**Salary**: $ 60,652 - $ 67,836 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
