**About the role**:The Supervised Bail Housing Program is a 12 bed facility providing community-based, residential supervision for clients released on various forms of bail. These include:

- Clients on JHS Bail Supervision
- Drug Treatment Court clients referred by Rideauwood
- Immigration Bail clients referred by CBSA

Particular consideration is given to vulnerable populations such as Indigenous people and those with mental health and addiction issues. Under the supervision of the Residential Coordinator the Case Worker will perform various tasks related to case planning, counselling and general support for the program clients. Support for residents includes but is not limited to motivational interviewing, addiction counselling, literacy and academic upgrading, workforce development, daily living and life skills, programming, as well as guidance in maintaining pro-social attitudes and change.

**Qualifications**:
**Experience**:

- Experience working with clients that are involved with the criminal justice system
- Experience working with clients with mental health and addiction issues
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in service delivery in the community justice field

**Education**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a Social Services program or equivalent

**Training**:

- Having attained the required skills and/or be willing to be trained in required skill areas

**Required Training**:

- ASIST Training
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- First Aid & CPR
- Mental Health First Aid

**Essential Skills and Knowledge**:

- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and fill gaps in service
- Thorough understanding of Motivational Interviewing techniques
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid understanding of clients involved with the criminal justice system
- Good knowledge of community resources
- Ability to diffuse anger and de-escalate conflict
- Role model appropriate living skills and pro-social lifestyle
- Strong organizational and writing skills
- Knowledge of JHS policy and procedures
- Ability to facilitate relationships with clients, colleagues, program partners and community members
- Must be able to obtain CBSA security clearance
- Fluency in French and English or other languages will be considered an asset

**Program Representation/Community Relations**:

- The Case Worker must have a firm grasp of the established procedural guidelines to determine an appropriate response to community members presenting concerns

**Program Level Responsibilities**:

- Implement intervention plans specific to each resident’s areas of need
- Establish achievable, specific goals with the client and identify intermediate targets for change
- Clearly document all relevant client activity
- Produce additional written reports and records as directed
- Promote residents successfully resolving conflict after hours while maintaining client and staff safety
- Attend supervision meetings and team meetings as necessary
- Administrative duties as identified by the Residential Coordinator
- Provide emergency crisis intervention and support to clients
- Actively communicate with Support Workers to support clients and building safety
- Participate in the On-Call rotation, adhering to the relevant policy and procedures
- Other duties which may be identified from time to time by the Residential Coordinator
