**Position Summary**

The Princess Margaret Genomics Centre is seeking a temporary full-time Research Technician II. As an integral team member at the Genomics Centre, a UHN core facility, the research technician must be dedicated and result-driven and will be involved in all aspects of service projects, following SOPs and meeting target deadlines.
There will be a special emphasis on techniques for single cell and single nucleus genomics (e.g. 10x Genomics).

**Duties**

Working under the direction of senior staff, the successful applicant will:

- Perform experiments and analysis;
- Communicate and maintain records of experimental data.
- Onboarding of samples from and communication with clients
- Entry of sample and library information into LIMS
- Fresh cell suspension fixation
- Frozen sample fixation and dissociation
- FFPE sample dissociation
- 10x Genomics Flex library production using fixed cell sample inputs
- Final library QC by BioAnalyzer

**Qualifications**
- BSc in genomics, molecular biology or related discipline or higher
- 3 years related experience is required.
- At least 2 years of experience with standard molecular biology laboratory techniques is required such as:

- Experience with PCR reaction set up and purification
- Live mammalian cell handling, including accurate cell counting and dilution
- A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and accurately under deadlines
- Meticulous and detail-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment
- Experience with single cell technologies is considered an asset.
