**CONTRACTS SPECIALIST**

To support the commercial execution of agreements and partnerships that will provide the optimal level of goods/services at the lowest possible total cost of ownership. The focus of this role is to manage and monitor the commercial aspects of executed agreements as part of Procurement’s post award functions. To follow established policies and procedures when completing work assignments. To perform evaluations based on local community impacts and development, overall cost, quality, service capability, availability, historical performance, and alternative supplier/contractor selection.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Area 1**:
**To support contractual requirements to achieve maximum value and strategic operating results.**
- Provide oversight on the contract commercial requirements and ensure suppliers/contractors are meeting the agreed terms and conditions as outlined in the contracts.
- Communicate with suppliers/contractors and monitor contract controls to give the best possible service to internal customers.
- Provide advanced Contract Administration support to the production departments.
- Develop and maintain supplier and/or contractor relationships, including review of performance as part of the contract execution in accordance to the contract.
- Answer queries and handles requests related to contracts which includes problem solving and judgment.
- Ensure established policies and procedures are followed, with adherence to established methodologies and quality standards.
- Work closely to assist and provide direction to various departments in best agreement practices and strategic planning and/or scheduling.
- Comply with established methodologies and quality standards related to Contracts while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches.
- Communicate with other Contract Administrators within the Cote Mine Supply Chain Team and resources in the Global Supply Chain for information related to goods and/or service agreement requirements.
- Review all contract requirements related to the goods and/or services and act as a mentor to other members within the Cote Mine Supply Chain Team.
- Act as key contributor to special projects in Contracts and other duties as required.
- Provide direction on claims management and take a lead position on any commercial non-compliance situations.
- Provide oversight of Field Work Instruction and Change Order processes impacting the commercial terms of the contract.
- Monitor mobilization, demobilization and closing contract costs

**Area 2**:
**Leads the legal and commercial compliance requirements for Contracts**
- Prepare reports and complete documentation in relation to contract compliance and business practices.
- Ensure records are accurate, produced on time, up to date and in the required format.
- Maintain reference materials in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Responsible for managing contractual information and major commitments from suppliers and/or contractors.
- Monitoring pricing to ensure cost controls are in place is another requirement.
- Ensure the vendor is in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions of the contract.
- Review and audit invoices as part of the commercial contract review.
- Management of any contract holdbacks, progress payments and/or milestone payments requirements.

**Area 3**:
**Mentor the Supply Chain Team on issues related to Contracts**
- Provide leadership by giving team members clear expectations of the performance levels required in contracts
- Ensure training is provided in accordance with future needs.
- Flexibility to always support staff coverage, which may include some on-call responsibilities.
