**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager of Investigations, this position functions within the parameters of applicable federal and provincial legislation, regulations, standards, policies and procedures for drivers and vehicles, and is responsible for overseeing the Investigations Unit within the branch.

You will be responsible for:

- Maintaining solid relationships with enforcement agencies and industry stakeholders - establishing, maintaining and liaising with enforcement agencies assisting in coordination of efforts for the department in multi-agency investigative files
- Increasing public safety across the province by decreasing collisions and other unsafe acts involving vehicles, drivers and carriers
- Providing leadership, consultation and input into legislative, regulatory, policy initiatives and business process improvements relating to the carrier safety audit, investigation, and permit inspection program so as to ensure alignment with Government and Ministry business plans and strategic direction - Review, recommend and evaluate, operational policies and processes to determine opportunities for streamlining and improvement
- Planning and leading the Investigations unit and review operations to deliver outcomes associated with business and operational plans and performance agreements - supervise and coordinate all aspects of audits and investigation, including assigning and planning to ensure
- efficient and effective use of resources

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- University graduation in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience directly related to regulatory enforcement; or equivalent as described below

**MUST** be eligible for peace officer appointment

**Equivalency**

Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Superior organizational and project management skills
