**Position Summary**:
This full-time, permanent position will support and assist Integrated Infrastructure Services (IIS) with meeting OHS legislation and with building a safety culture through developing and implementing practices and processes that demonstrate due diligence. This position is dedicated to supporting IIS, a decision unit within Infrastructure that provides maintenance and construction projects for schools in the Division.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- conducting site visits where IIS trade staff are working to observe staff in their work environments
- providing Safety Orientation to new staff hired by IIS
- attending monthly tool box meetings for each shop to support the OHS Consultants and Forepersons with safety information and messaging
- providing coaching and training related to safe work practices and completion of mandatory Division OHS related documentation for construction and maintenance activities
- working directly with supervisors or designates to identify areas for change related to staff safety practices
- supporting project and maintenance activity planning by providing advice related to safe work practices or hazard mitigation
- providing input to the selection or recommendation of equipment or PPE purchases
- supporting Division OHS in the investigation of incidents and assisting IIS leadership with investigations and reporting, implementing corrective actions, and developing and testing safe work procedures

**Education/Qualifications**:

- high school plus one-year post-secondary program
- National Construction Safety Officer Designation in OHS
- a minimum of three years of experience including experience on active construction sites and one-year of experience in an OHS related role
- experience coaching and training staff on safe work practices
- exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- strong organization skills

**Rate of Pay**:
$2,552.90 - $3,256.40 bi-weekly
