**Temporary Accounting Officer (MM5)**

The successful applicant for this Temporary Mid-Management Level 5 position (salary range of $91,501 to $106,510), will be working 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective as soon as possible to November 1, 2025.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage all aspects of the board’s Priorities and Partnerships Funding (PPF) reporting; including monthly reconciliations, in-depth analysis and the development of effective strategies to address financial reporting challenges;
- Provide advice, guidance and support to PPF responsibility centres (Superintendents, System Administrators, Principals and Vice Principals) in order to effectively monitor PPF spending, identify opportunities and mitigate any risks;
- Conduct in-depth analysis and develop effective strategies to address financial reporting challenges while ensuring GAAP, PSAB and Ministry of Education requirements are met;
- Review monthly account reconciliations and analysis prepared by staff in Accounting Services;
- Prepare year-end financial working papers and supporting schedules;
- Review and approve monthly account reconciliations, analysis, and invoicing prepared by staff in Accounting Services
- Provide day-to-day support and supervision for accounting analysts in Accounts Receivable.
- Ensure financial policies, procedures and processes are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
- Assist in the development of business plans, work-flow modernization and training initiatives to support schools, other stakeholders, and Financial Services.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Financial Services team to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting in School Board or Public Sector is preferred.
- Significant experience in the management of multiple projects and tasks, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a diverse school community and/or work environment.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a detail-oriented work environment and maintain confidentiality on a broad range of personal and business information.
