**Regular Part-Time (0.20 FTE)**

The Assistant Head, Clinical Partnerships, in coordination with the Pediatric Department Head, is responsible for working with the provincial health authorities, other relevant health sector partners, academic organizations, and government to facilitate, coordinate and optimize clinical and academic activities and foster integration to support the pediatric health system in BC.

**What you’ll do**
- Act as the key liaison with health authorities, the government and other health sector partners to facilitate integration of clinical and academic activities and address issues and barriers
- In collaboration with the Associate Head, Clinical Affairs provide strategic leadership and act as the Department of Pediatrics representative for activities involving or related to the advancement of pediatric program initiatives
- Work with health authority leadership and Child Health BC to implement pediatric outreach programs and support underserved communities.
- Work with others to ensure that faculty members engaged in clinical activity within the Province are appropriately supported and valued, including efforts that advocate for and foster recognition of Clinical Faculty.
- Work with relevant external and internal partners to facilitate development of shared goals and accountabilities, and intersecting foundational clinical and academic platforms and programs that address core systemic issues and support the pediatric health system overall
- Work with relevant internal and external partners to foster provincial capacity and rigour in health data science and other digital capabilities to support pediatric health
- Participate in efforts to foster and support development of international engagement and global health activities in the Department of Pediatrics
- Working with the Associate Head, Clinical Affairs, provide co-ordination within the Department with respect to the participation by physicians, in the evaluation of the efficiency, quality and delivery of the Services, including and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, participation in medical audits, peer and interdisciplinary reviews, chart reviews, and incident report reviews.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- Clinician academic faculty member with experience in providing leadership and management in a clinical environment
- Experience with and understanding of pediatric clinical care as well as academic medicine
- Demonstrated skill in negotiation, conflict management and change management
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Highly effective communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
- Prior senior leadership experience within a clinical academic setting, director of a pediatric clinical unit or significant involvement in national medical organizations
