Program Assistant

**Regular Part-Time (25 hours/week)**
**Examples of Work**:
- Acts as on-floor supervisor through the week with the support of department management
- Leads Education Bookings including generating booking agreements, executing school bookings, and supervising museum and sport attendant staff
- Processes payments and file waiver forms for education bookings
- Liaises with Program Coordinator and Marketing Department to effectively market education bookings
- Contributes to administering and monitoring facility bookings, tours, corporate, school groups, and other bookings as directed
- Demonstrates leadership and initiative to help ensure staff are motivated and enthusiastic
- Assists with exhibit and technical issues, liaising with the IT and Operations departments
- Works in conjunction with department management and other Oval departments to ensure each guest experience is positive and memorable
- Monitors gallery space and exhibits for participant and guest safety
- Provides administrative assistance to department management as required
- Provides guests with interpretation services including information about museum artifacts, exhibit content, programs and the Olympic movement
- Manages and ensures the proper use and maintenance of equipment, simulators and exhibits while on the floor
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Completion or ongoing enrollment in a post secondary diploma or undergraduate degree program in a relevant discipline
- Valid Standard First Aid, CPR-C and AED Certificate
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to organize, and good time management skills
- Experience working in a customer service setting
- Experience working in a museum, cultural institution, or tourism related business considered an asset
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers or a strong desire to build and grow these skills
- Participation in or graduation from a recognized sport or museum related post-secondary program considered an asset
- Coaching or teaching experience is considered an asset
- Passion for sport, athleticism, the Olympics and/or the Olympic Movement
- Passion for sharing information with others
- Ability and desire to create a welcoming environment for all museum visitors and stakeholders
- Must be able to complete a successful Criminal Record Check
**Compensation and Benefits**: $22.02 - $27.52 hourly rate (Dependent on experience and qualifications).
