Early Childhood Mental Health Program

The Early Childhood Mental Health Program is a highly respected non-profit agency providing mental health services to young children and their families in Contra Costa County.

Salary: $60,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced preschool mental health consultant to join our diverse team. As a member of our team, you will provide culturally sensitive preschool mental health consultation services to children birth to five within Head Start Preschools across Contra Costa County (West, Central, and East).

Our work involves collaboration with preschool and daycare directors, site supervisors, teachers, and families to assist young children who are exhibiting behavioral difficulties or who seem to need additional support in engaging with peers and caregivers.

Our families face the stress of trauma, migration, domestic and community violence, economic hardship, substance abuse, and maternal depression among others.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, social welfare, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Five years' experience working in a preschool or daycare setting and/or providing therapy services to young children and their families.
  • Holder of a California driver's license in good standing and access to a reliable automobile with the legally required minimum insurance coverage.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Master's Degree
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
