The position assists the Manager of Finance in project work and financial reporting. The position provides financial analyses including reviews of MDA lines of business to MDA management. The position also provides financial information for Public Accounts. The position supervises the accounting clerks.

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- A professional accounting designation or in the final year of a professional accounting program. A combination of education and experience working in the accounting field may be considered.
- Experience with the preparation of financial statements, budgets, budget forecasting, budget variance, efficiency analysis, costing and reconciliations.
- Experience with supervision and leadership of staff.
- Knowledge of LEAN or equivalent methodologies (Six Sigma, OPEX) for continuous improvement of work area.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with various stakeholders and work collaboratively with a team.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare concise reports for a variety of audiences.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to make sound recommendations to senior management.

**Duties**:

- Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Financial Analyst provides strategic and financial analysis to the Manager of Finance. The incumbent will have strong accounting skills to support financial reviews of commodity service lines and development of segmented income statements of expenditures. The incumbent will use all systems and data to provide the Agency with effective cost recovery processes. The business analyst will provide statistical support for the Agency’s Operational Excellence Program._
