**ROLE IMPACT**

This is a meaningful role where you can make a difference every day for people living with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). You will have a significant impact by:

- Helping the major gifts team cultivate strong relationships with donors by understanding their interests, motivations, and values.
- Building and producing regular meaningful donor communication plan to keep them engaged about the organization's activities, achievements, and challenges
- Identifying opportunities to develop donor appreciation events and to enhance our fundraising strategies.
- Using story-telling to inspire others to support our cause by turning complex issues into clear and compelling messages.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 4-5 years of progressive experience in communications, stewardship and/or fundraising. Major gift fundraising experience an asset;
- Post-secondary degree in fundraising, marketing, communications, event planning, or related field, or equivalent experience;
- Proven ability to create compelling written communication for diverse audiences, with fresh perspective, and outstanding craft;
- Working knowledge of fundraising and major gift fundraising cycle;
- Experience in developing either major gift recognition, communication or stewardship plans;
- Resourceful self-starter, excelling at working independently and identifying opportunities;
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen and strategic thinking ability, with creative problem solving;
- Ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team, providing insightful input and driving initiatives;
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, including handling multiple, concurrent and diverse tasks;
- Ability to thrive under pressure and prioritize in a fast-paced, evolving environment;
- Proficiency in advanced usage of fundraising CRM (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.), including queries, reports, and dashboards, an asset; and
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Utilizing story-telling, write and produce compelling communications such as newsletters, impact report, proposals and more, to engage and recognize existing and potential donors;
- Lead the development and execution of a major gifts cycle that effectively communicates impact to donors;
- Manage the preparation and delivery of stewardship and report communications to major gift donors;
- Working with the Specialist, Mid-Level Giving, support the preparation and delivery of stewardship and communications to mid-level donors;
- Support the coordination, implementation, and execution of projects and campaigns of the major gifts team;
- Work closely with the major gifts team and cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of cultivation and stewardship events;
- Manage the process and system to record, track, update, and maintain reporting deliverables for mid-level and major gifts;
- Drive the major gifts pipeline, identifying new and lapsed prospects for the major gifts team;
- Lead and strategize the development of a sustainable Legacy Giving program, emphasizing the significance of planned gifts as a meaningful culmination of the donor journey, appealing to potential donors at all levels of giving; and
- Collaborating with multiple teams to develop an efficient process strategy and create compelling materials for presenting the case for support to Legacy Giving prospects.
