We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Disabilities Learning Strategist to help our students to reach and achieve their academic goals.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Student appointments to assess areas of need in relation to academic success
- Working individually with students with a broad range of disabilities to provide learning strategies, study skills, and education success planning.
- Design appropriate individualized learning strategy plans for students
- Support and enhance students' personal and academic success
- Serving as a resource to University on matters related to learning strategies for students with learning differences
- Assisting with special events and other services offered through the office
- Consult and collaborate as appropriate with faculty
- To undertake other related responsibilities and duties which may be assigned by the College when course load permits

Required Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Education, Adult Education or related discipline. Special Education designation is strongly encouraged. Master of Education is an asset
- Student-facing experience in a secondary or post-secondary school setting, with a background in planning and provision of educational supports to students with special needs
- Proven experience as a learning strategist
- Experience creating learning strategies for students
- Excellent communication both oral and written
- Superior organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills required
- A strong student-focused orientation
- Proven ability to provide solution-focused interventions
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, particularly in the decision-making process
- Ability to remain objective in decision-making when presented with emotionally charged situations and when limited information is available
