- We will be hiring three Anti-Racism Strategists with focus on three distinct areas: anti-hate/racial trauma; anti-racism learning and development; and planning/developing processes for ongoing and transformative engagements. As the Anti-Racism Strategist, you will work within the Anti-Racism Program and align with directors, managers and interested parties. A key responsibility of the strategists is to identify, research, analyze, and recommend actions to address systemic racism, racial inequity, and racial discrimination. Primary duties include:

- Support the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives promoting racial justice.
- Provide strategic support to a wide range of groups, including but not limited to post-secondary partners, community groups, and business units to collectively advance racial equity and racial justice.
- Provide anti-racism expert knowledge and understanding on matters pertaining to the experiences of Indigenous, Black, and diverse Racialized peoples.
- Develop tools and processes that support Corporate or community partners to identify, address, and remove racial inequities in City services, programs, and policies.
- Support the development of anti-racism and anti-hate learning opportunities including formal training, awareness initiatives, experiential learnings, communities of practice, and strategic discussions.
- Plan, develop, and implement engagement processes.
- Develop and maintain ongoing positive community and corporate relationships.
- Develop project timelines and implementation plans in collaboration with the Anti-Racism Program Management Team.

**Qualifications**

- A degree in Social Work, Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Political Science, Policy Development, or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience; OR a relevant graduate degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
- Lived experience as a member of an underrepresented community or experience working with and as an ally for persons from an underrepresented community is a requirement.
- Significant experience with business planning and implementation is necessary along with practical experience with diverse types of governance models, project management and negotiation skills with diverse audience of focus.
- Experience reviewing policies, writing reports, including Council reports will be considered an asset.
- For each position, preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following areas:

- Experience with anti-racism learning and development.
- Experience working on issues related to racial trauma, psychosocial wellbeing, and intergenerational trauma due to racialization.
- Experience planning and developing processes for transformative community and staff engagement.
- Success in this position requires:

- A solid understanding of anti-racism, systemic racism, living and lived experience, racial equity, strategy and policy development and an understanding of systemic racism issues experienced by Indigenous, Black, and diverse Racialized communities.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to prioritize, build and maintain trusting relationships.
- Building consensus among interested parties and influence without authority.
- The ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information about anti-racism.

- work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
