Postdoctoral Fellowship, Partial Discharge in Power

Ottawa, Canada National Research Council Canada Full time

Power electronic modules are backbone components of the power convertors and invertors driving the propulsion system of the electrified transportation. Therefore, the reliability of these power modules is of a paramount importance for maintaining a safe and reliable operation of electric vehicles. The development of a partial discharge evaluation for power electronic modules at NRC can serve manufacturers in the semiconductor industry in Canada as a reliable testing hub for quality assurance of the next generation power electronic modules. This proposed project serves the imminent need of Canadian industry with reliable measurements and quality assurance protocols for the next generation power electronic modules as building blocks of the electrified transportation. It also supports the attainment of GoC vehicle electrification targets.
