- Reporting to the VP Academic & Applied Research (VPAR), the Associate Director (AD) is responsible for the integrity, sustainability, and transparency of the annual College enrolment planning process, program costing, and integrity of financial and enrolment planning and other strategic models to facilitate decision making, program sustainability, program change (program renewal/creation, accreditation). Develops evidence based budgeting and financial modeling structures that meet high documentation and compliance standards. Provides high-level, detailed analysis on programs, contracts, business cases and other special projects, including creating reports and presentations. Ensures the College’s academic planning and governance obligations are met through the effective management of staff and resources.The AD works with the VPAR to ensure seamless coordination of services and activities related to college and school-wide initiatives, monitoring of systems for operational efficiency, and oversight of activities to support student success and academic integrity. The AD contributes to the development of school and academic plans, provides leadership in operationalizing key policies, procedures, objectives, and initiatives that promote achieving the College’s strategic goals and objectives. The AD collaborates with other members of the College’s leadership team, key institutional stakeholders, and community partners.**Duties & Responsibilities**
**Strategic & Administrative Leadership**
- Contributes to the collaborative development of strategic and operational plans, project plans, and other tools to guide and support the implementation of the College’s overall direction and vision for the academic schools.
- Leads or facilitates departmental and cross-functional teams consisting of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful and sustainable implementation of projects, initiatives or activities that meet established goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with the schools’ administrative teams and Department Leaders to ensure effective and sustainable academic planning that meets the College’s expectations and standards.
- Participates in the College’s strategic initiatives that relate to the AD’s portfolio.
- Represents the school on various internal and external committees as required and liaises with related areas in the College.
**Academic Leadership and Support**
- Supports ongoing program evaluation for effectiveness and efficient delivery in accordance with established standards.
- Contributes to the overall academic planning and administration of the schools’ programs through the relevant governance processes.
- Promotes professional development opportunities to support curriculum development and renewal.
- Plans and coordinates needed resources required for successful projects, activities and initiatives within the College.
**Budgeting, Planning and Reporting**
- Collaborates with the Associate Director Budget and Financial Planning and the Deputy Registrar to guide and inform the school-level budget process including the building and delivery of the annual capital and operating budgets.
- Collaborates with the Associate Director Budget and Financial Planning, Deputy Registrar, and School level administration to develop annual enrolment plans for budget preparation and updates forecasts based on actual enrolments throughout the fiscal year.
- Monitors and complies with reporting requirements for enrolment planning, program sustainability, and program change protocols and implements appropriate changes to procedures and processes to ensure compliance.
**Risk Management & Compliance Planning, Decision and Business Case Development Support**
- Assists schools in developing business plans for program change initiatives (new program creation, program renewal and accreditation)
- Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring systems and procedures to maintain effective internal controls. Designs tools and reports to improve oversight of assigned portfolio.
