**Title: Claims Analyst**
**Location: Toronto, ON**
**Duration: 3+ Months**
**Job Summary**
- Duties of the Claims/Business Analyst includes (but not limited to) gathering, analyzing, and documenting insurance claims data.
- The core goal of this temporary assignment is to organize, reconcile, and align vendor invoices with the accounting system to validate a single source of truth.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Support Insurance Manager in analysis of all claims related expenses and invoices from financial reporting perspective
- Utilize financial accounting systems to download journal entries.
- Match journal entries against estimate financial reports, and then reconcile against vendor claims related invoices. Report discrepancies to the Insurance Manager
- Match and verify claim related invoices
- Liaise with internal parties and respond to requests for information and reports
- Prepare ad-hoc excel reports and analysis
- Organize evidence (file renaming, linking to excel)
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
**Knowledge & skills**:
- Paralegal or legal background considered an asset
- Financial analyst background considered an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, embedded attachments)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & SharePoint
- Experience using financial accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Sage)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Quick to learn new systems and processes
**Education & Experience**
- Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting or related program
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in financial planning & analysis, or accounting, business analysis, or paralegal with a high degree of experience in Microsoft Excel.
Pay: $15.50-$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON M9C 5K7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
