Summary:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Training Delivery**: Facilitate training sessions for school staff and school-based clinicians to support them in the delivery of a standardized mental health and substance use program.
**Consultation & Collaboration**: Provide on-the-ground coaching and consultation with school staff to support program delivery, and collaborate with external and program partners.
**Resource Development**: Create materials to support the effective implementation of mental health and substance use education and intervention in schools.
**Change Strategy & Risk Management**: Participate in the development of program procedures, change management strategies, and risk management approaches.
**Project Leadership**: Contribute to and lead special projects as needed.

What You Bring:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling or Clinical Psychology. Three (3) years recent, related experience working with youth and young adults across the mental health and substance use continuum including one year’s experience teaching, preceptoring and/or coaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Completion of training in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. Experience working with or in the K-12 education setting considered an asset.

Certification, or where required by statute, registration with the applicable professional association or college.

Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of the broad range of issues pertaining to adolescent and young adult mental health and substance use, psychiatric diagnosis, and related evidence-based best treatment practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in use of relevant treatment modalities and interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult education principles, curriculum development and teaching methodologies.
- Knowledge of the secondary education systems in British Columbia.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor learners.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and facilitate learning.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others in a multicultural environment, independently and as part of an inter-professional team and understanding the frameworks of other disciplines.
- Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment, including working under pressure, adapting, and responding to changing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, listening and recording skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

What We Offer:
1. Leads the delivery of group education sessions through online learning, or in-person, across school districts and their partnering agencies on a standardized youth mental health and substance use prevention and early program (“the program”), as well as other areas of education as identified by Foundry Leadership.

2. Contributes to the ongoing refinement of Foundry’s implementation support for the program, including incorporating best practices in adult education, developing materials and resources, contributing to processes and tools that support the implementation of the program in the school setting.

3. Ensures quality and consistency of the program delivery, including evaluating the effectiveness of the educational strategies used to support program implementation and contributing to content enhancements as required based on metrics and feedback, changes to the program and/or changes to organizational priorities. Provides recommendations regarding improvements based on evaluation results.

4. Provides clinical coaching and interpretation of various guidelines and processes for program facilitators (e.g. school staff) via individual and group meetings, as well as supporting a Community of Practice. Ensures requirements outlined by the program are met by schools and program facilitators.

5. Plans and schedules educational activities and maintains a system for tracking attendance, with support from the program support team.

6. Engages routinely with operational leadership across school districts to support the school-based implementation of the program alongside Foundry’s program support team.

7. Maintains expert knowledge of current standards, policies, and procedures regarding the program and secondary education system in British Columbia. Maintains expert knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, adolescent mental health and substance use and developmental and learning needs.

8. Builds strong and effective partnerships with school districts across BC as well as colleagues in other health organizations and provincial and national partners.
