**Full Time Mental Health & Substance Use Support Worker**
**About Us**
Peak House is a provincial resource serving youth and their families across the province of British Columbia. It is a voluntary, ten-week, live-in, treatment program for youth aged 13-18 seeking freedom from problematic substance use.
**In this position the Full Time Mental Health & Substance Use Support Worker gets to**:
- Provided young people with a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment
- Lead therapeutic groups, outings, participate in case planning
- Support youth in their day to day experiences at Peak House
- Experience working with youth facing multiple barriers
- Substance Abuse Certificate and/or Youth and Child Care Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of narrative & solution-focused counselling and/or client-centered, collaborative practices
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to participate in a variety of physical activities
- Awareness of practices of cultural accountability, diversity and inclusion
- Self aware, accountable, collaborative respectful team player
- _**Driving (company vehicle) is necessary for this position. Class 5 Drivers license and abstract is required**_
**What Will Really Make You Stand Out**:
- Experience working in live in setting
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with mental health and drug/alcohol problems
- Lived experience and knowledge of working with youth of diverse social determinants of health relating to race, gender, sexuality, class, and abilities
- Current Level One First Aid and CPR

**Shift Schedule**:
- **Wednesday - Saturday 12:45PM - 10:30 PM **(break included)
- Weekend availability
**Other Considerations**:
- All Peak House employees must provide current vaccination status as a term of employment as per Vancouver Coastal Health.

Pay: $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
