**Research Planning & Facilitation Officer (Social Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts)**:
**Accountabilities**:Effectively develops and manages assigned projects related to advancing the strategic priorities of the College of Arts and Science to ensure SSHRC success, while establishing and maintaining the required collaborative relations in achieving the desired outcomes:

- Proactively encourage new grant submissions by focusing on increasing the number and quality of proposals (through training, feedback on drafts).
- Work closely with principal investigators on grant re-submissions, informing responses to external reviewers’ comments and identifying additional supports or opportunities to ensure success.
- Work closely with faculty within and outside the college to initiate and coordinate activities to nurture and develop inter/multidisciplinary research collaborations for the pursuit of large multidisciplinary SSHRC grants.
- In coordination with the Research Acceleration and Strategic Initiatives (RASI) team, liaise with funding agencies to gain expert knowledge and develop strong productive relationships.
- Communicate expert knowledge of SSHRC and relevant research funding opportunities to the college through the appropriate channels.
- Participate as a member of the university’s SSHRC research facilitator group to represent College of Arts and Science goals and identify opportunities for collaboration across colleges and schools.
- Liaise with the university International Office to facilitate international collaborative RSAW, identify new initiatives, and support existing international collaborations in the pursuit of funding opportunities.
- Assist in the nomination of individual faculty members for RSAW-related prizes and honours at the university level or externally.
- Work with principal investigators, research teams, Vice-Dean RSAW, and RASI to improve the quality, quantity, and success of the college’s SSHRC Tri-council research funding opportunities.

**Education**: A Master’s degree in a related discipline.

**Experience**: A minimum of three years’ experience working in a research environment in a university setting; experience with interdisciplinary programs, proposal development, granting agencies, project management, communications and finance as well as a broad knowledge of academic structure and culture; knowledge of research policies and processes at the University of Saskatchewan and experience with SSHRC funding programs would be considered an asset.
