The Operations Manager will provide overall direction and guidance to the manufacturing & production activities. The Operations Manager is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, finding better efficiencies, managing cost, labour, and develop plans for overall improvements within the facility.

This is a full-time, permanent position, with an excellent benefits package, and room for growth.

**Duties Include**:

- Lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented and followed.
- Ensuring that we safely deliver product to our customers complete, on time, and defect free.
- Drive detailed development of long-term manufacturing capacity planning to meet the growth of our business.
- Develop operational structure and program to initiate tighter cost control and cost reduction.
- Drive initiatives in the management team and across the organization that contribute to high levels of operational excellence.
- Coordinate and monitor all operations.
- Ensure premises, assets and communication methods are used effectively.
- Update and oversee all the manufacturing processes.
- Maintain logs and records of production.
- Prepare accurate reports for effective management.
- Ongoing development & improvement with processes, methodologies and metrics
- Research and identify best practices, policies & methodologies (including LEAN)
- Responsible for managing upkeep, efficiencies and cleanliness of the shop floor, warehouse and surroundings.
- Assess personnel and monitor the flow of work in process through the manufacturing facility.
- Investigate quality issues, define root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, including orientation, coaching and mentoring, employee engagement, performance feedback and supporting growth and development opportunities.

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Demonstrated leadership and engagement of employees that is supported by developing and leading an effective team, fostering a positive work environment and setting clear expectations that successfully contributes to effective and efficient work completion, achievement of operational and strategic targets and goals, employee satisfaction and loyalty.
- Critical thinking to anticipate, identify and respond with creativity and innovation.
- Proven track record of strategy creation to execution to deliver positive outcomes.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skill with mínimal supervision.
- Strong leader with exceptional written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
- Listens effectively, speaks and writes in a clear and concise manner.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office - with above average Excel skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment and keep organized.
- Able to take direction and follow through to completion.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, operations management or a related discipline.
- Bachelor of Commerce will also be considered.
- PMP or MBA is a plus.
- 3 - 5 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preference in the fabrication of architectural glass.
- Experience operating in fast-paced and complex changing environment.
