**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**:
Using accounting and financial software to:

- Create balance sheets and revenue statements.
- Maintain and balance records of financial transactions by posting and verifying accounts and subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions.
- Reconcile entries to balance subsidiary accounts and maintain a balanced general ledger, monitoring for variances from the projected budget.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements.

Assist in financial activities such as generating invoices and tracking / reimbursing employee and office expenses.

Coordinate with business and operations regarding the status of client / subconsultant invoices and following up on overdue payments, including the processing of payment though payroll services.

Prepare and make bank deposits, and payment for quarterly HST and corporate taxes.

Prepare and make payment for quarterly HST and corporate taxes and monthly WSIB premium statements.

Create reports including budgets, balance sheets, balance sheet, revenue and profit-and-loss statements.

Maintain group health plan records and claim submissions.

Participate in the ongoing audit of RMA +SH financial statements, liaising with KPMG regularly and at year end.

Advise management on compliance requirements.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Accounting, Finance or other related diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in previous accounting / bookkeeping position(s).
- Deep understanding of accounting principles, including an understanding of industry benchmarks and accounting best practices.
- Experience in maintaining general records and financial management functions.
- Establishing accounts and developing standards to maintain them.
- Ability to maintain and balance budgets.
- BQE CORE Management for invoicing and payments, employee time tracking and administrative management of projects.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks online, MS Office 365, advanced Excel ability or other spreadsheet software.
- Technology savvy and ease in navigating new software, especially QuickBooks online.
- Proven ability to take Initiative and demonstrate discretion, diligence, judgment, and reliability.
- Excellent ability to organize and prioritize work in order to manage large volumes of complex data.
- Ability to manage bookkeeping for 30-40 active projects with annual receivables of approximately 7-8 million dollars.
- Effective and collegial interpersonal skills.
- Advanced ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) in English, including the ability to respond to inquiries from inside and outside of the company.

**Assets**
- Experience doing bookkeeping in an architectural engineering office or in a construction-related industry.
- Fluency in French.
- Ability to obtain CISD clearance.

**Compensation and Benefits**

The salary range for this position is **$60,000 - $70,000 **prorated based on a 3-4 day (22.5-30 hour) work week. Salary is based on previous experience and skills, with a starting salary typically in minimum to midpoint of the range.
