We’re looking for like-minded individuals to join our team.

**About the Role: This is a Part-time, Hourly position.**

**About The Bookkeeper**

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining timely and reconciled financial ledgers and ensuring the organization’s payments, invoices and payroll is completed accurately and based on appropriate approvals.

**Key Responsibilities**:
2. Record, file and maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions; reconcile accounts in Sage50 on a monthly basis.

3. Record banking transactions accurately and in a timely fashion on a weekly basis; this includes maintaining organized backup records, receipts and invoices.

4. Follow-up on overdue invoices in a professional manner.

5. Prepare bi-weekly and weekly payroll for review; Submit on a timely basis to ADP.

6. Reconcile credit card statements; Prepare monthly report for review and approval.

7. Sales taxes: accurate accounting of invoiced taxes and ITCs and monthly filing for QST, HST and GST.

8. Reconcile bank statements to Sage 50 monthly.

9. Reconcile payroll accounts monthly. Report differences and issues immediately to supervisor.

10. Perform other accounting work and financial & statutory reporting as directed by manager.

11. Statistics Canada reporting.

12. Review of Accounting inboxes and respond to external vendors or customers in a professional manner and on a timely basis.

13. Asist from time to time with new employee onboarding as it relates to ADP and timeclock.

14. Able to lift up to 10lbs; may work in hot areas 0%, noise 0%.

15. Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.

**Attributes, Skills and Knowledge**:

- A Degree or Diploma in Accounting, or minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience
- Availability to work on-site for 2 days per week
- Professional and organized
- Deliver work with high level of accuracy and on a timely basis
- Able to prioritize work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrating use of discretion and sound judgement
- Strong communication skills in English - verbal and written
- Problem solver
- Able to work with mínimal supervision on core accounting work
- Excel - intermediate level
- Sage50 experience preferred
- French written skills an asset
- A clear background check for criminal and/or credit is required

**This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location. Hours are typically 8:00am to 4:30pm.**
