Fleming and Baron (an ASSA ABLOY company) is recruiting an Accounting Specialist. This is an on-site position that will be based out of our manufacturing facility based in Woodbridge, Ontario.

ASSA ABLOY is a leading manufacturer of steel doors and frames for healthcare, institutional, commercial and industrial markets. Our custom and standard hollow metal doors and frames have been used in hospitals, universities, hotels, stadiums and many other projects that require a full range of safety, security, and aesthetic requirements.

**What would you do as our Accountant?**

In this role, you will own the full life cycle of the accounts payable functionand help to support and maintain the day-to-day accounting function. You will enter data into daily worksheets and into the general ledger system, while ensuring all files are complete and maintained with the utmost integrity.

**You would also**:

- Own the full life cycle of the Accounts Payable function including checking, verifying and processing invoices, ensuring compliance, preparing payments for signature, sorting and coding data, analyzing discrepancies and unpaid invoices, and maintaining vendor files.
- Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations.
- Provide general Ledger analysis.
- Assist with month-end financial statements.
- Perform administrative duties as needed to support the Finance team.
- Assess tax information to ensure compliance with the Tax Act
- Participate in a safe and harmonious working environment.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Other projects and assignments, as needed.

**What we are looking for**:

- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, databases, and accounting software
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines.
- Comfortable utilizing Excel (intermediate to advanced skills)
- Previous working knowledge of SAP and an ERP system would be a plus.
