**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIY**:
The Payroll and Benefits Administrator role is directly accountable to the Human Resource Coordinator and indirectly to the Associate & Executive Director. He/she shall be directly accountable for providing high quality support to all people working and supported within by CPH, working together with the Management team to ensure that goals and objectives are met. Specifically:

- Processing bi-weekly Payroll submission.
- Enrollment and maintenance of Group Health benefits for employees.
- Enrollment and remittance of Registered Pension Plan for employees.
- Maintenance of all user accounts within the agency related to payroll and benefits.

**NATURE AND SCOPE**:
This position reports directly to the Human Resource Coordinator. The Payroll Administrator role assists the management team with ensuring that employees are compensated accurately and that they are accessing available benefits. The Payroll Administrator is the first point of contact for employees who encounter discrepancies related to payroll and or benefits.

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is also responsible for maintaining employee accounts throughout the agency on multiple platforms. The most important decisions of the CPH Payroll and Benefits Administrator relate to quality service provided to all people employed by the agency, particularly:

- Ensuring the service provided is of high quality and in harmony with planning and CPH philosophy.
- Efficient execution of compensation and benefits record keeping.
- Accurate input, updates, and maintenance of employee user accounts.

**PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY**:
1) Promotes a culture and lifestyle consistent with CPH beliefs and values and Gentle Teaching.

2) Support to the Human Resource Coordinator includes:
II. Successful submission of payroll bi-weekly through Ceridian DayForce and PowerPay.

III. Enrollment and maintenance of Group Health benefits for employees

IV. Enrollment and remittance of Registered Pension Plan for employees

V. Issuing Records of Employment.

VI. Adjusting wages on PowerPay and DayForce

VII. Registration of new hires to PowerPay and DayForce

VIII. Suspension and/or Termination of employees from PowerPay and DayForce.

IX. Administering additional payouts (retroactive payments, vacation payouts, missed hours, etc.).

X. Preparing and distributing letters related to compensation and benefits.

XI. Monitoring vacation carry-over on DayForce and sending notifications to Human Resources.

XII. Monitoring years of service (employee recognition program) and sending notifications to Human Resources. Monitoring vacation eligibility based on employee’s years of service.

XIV. Update and maintain CPH user accounts through IT requests (Leaves of Absence, Illness, Suspension, etc.).

3) Ensures that all matters relating to the employment and compensation of employees of CPH shall be treated ni a confiential manner and not discussed with anyone outside of the Management team and/or not specified by the employee.

**PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
1) Completion of a recognized office administration/financial accounting/human resource certificate or 1-2 years’ experience in a Payroll Administrator capacity

2) Excellent verbal and written communication skills

3) Effective interpersonal skills with individuals and groups

4) Ability to perform scheduled routines and set priorities with mínimal supervision

**REQUIREMENTS**:
1) Must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment

2) Ability to use relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite, DayForce, Sage, PowerPay

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $24.55 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
