**Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association** is seeking energetic, creative and positive individuals to deliver a quality Out of School Care program for families living in the Mount Pleasant community and area. MPCCA operates two licenses child care centres, providing care for children 0-12 years old. Our mission is to provide high quality and affordable child care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children. We offer nurturing environments and learning experiences for children to ready them for life-long learning and to provide opportunities for children to develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively according to their individual development and learning styles.

**Position**:
The Inclusion Program Leader will be responsible for providing extra support to children in our Out of School Care Program. Experience working with developmental delays and behavioral challenges is required. Our licensed Out of School Care program is committed to providing quality childcare to families in the Mount Pleasant Community and area.

**Qualifications**:

- 20 hours of Responsible Adult Training Certificate or equivalent training in accordance to licensing requirements.
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children in a Licensed Childcare Program
- Special needs experience is preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Criminal Record Clearance.
- Provide copy of immunization record.
- Ability to provide a minimum of 2 current/satisfactory references
- Effective guiding and caring skills
- Strong work ethic
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure a safe, challenging and exciting environment for children 5-12 years.
- Assist in the planning and carrying out of developmentally appropriate activities.
- Initiate activities, games and positive play experiences that reflect an inclusive philosophy.
- Develop, in conjunction with families and supervisor, support plans for children who require extra support.
- Coordinate the participation of team members in the care of children with extra support needs.
- Perform other duties related to the organization of the program.
- Actively participating in all aspects of program such as games, art and activities.
- Maintaining open and supportive relationships with families.
- Developing strong working relationships with the staff and community.
- **Please Note**: Assistance with toileting, feeding, changing and mobility will be required.

**Rate of Pay**:

- $21.53-$23.23/hour (Includes 4 % vacation pay) - depending on experience
- Additional $6/hr ECE Wage Enhancement, if ECE certified

**Hours**:

- Part-time, 5 days per week, 2:30-6pm (approx. 18-25hrs/week)
- Pro-D days (8hrs/day) and seasonal camps (8hrs/day)

**Contract Term**:

- March 4 - June 28, 2024 (to be renegotiated for summer)
