**Recreation Program Leader - Summer Daycamp**

(Internal/External Posting)

Marpole Neighbourhood House (MNH) is currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, responsible and energetic individual who is passionate about providing engaging recreational activities for children ages 5-12.
- Research, plan and implement daily recreation, education, creative and social activities for children aged 5-12
- Work collaboratively with the team to lead daily activities to groups of children
- Assists in setup and cleanup of program space
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children
- Assist Youth Programmer to supervise and mentor youth volunteers

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs and to be eligible, you must**

**be**: o between 19 to 30 years of age at the start of the employment; o a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and, o have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Education in recreation, kinesiology or related field an asset
- Relevant experience volunteering or working with school aged children
- Ability to work as part of a team
- First Aid and Food Safe certified are strong assets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoys working with children in a diverse and inclusive setting

**Employment Terms**:

- Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day & 35 hours per week
- Start Date: July 10, 2023
- End Date: Septemer 1, 2023
- Salary: $18.72 plus 4% in lieu benefits
- Job Type: Full Time Contract Term Position
