**Key Responsibilities**

As a Medical clinic assistant, you will be joining our team of technicians and experienced medical professionals at Restore Hyperbarics. Our physicians have training in hyperbaric oxygen therapy. As anesthesiologists, all of our staff have extensive expertise in the administration and monitoring of medications that have unique routes of administration. You will not only manage patient bookings and main reception duties, but also provide instructions and care to patients regarding hyperbaric procedures (i.e. safety instructions).

**Skills and Attributes**
- General intake/medical history with patients over the telephone, including collecting data related to research studies.
- Liaise with Hyperbaric clinical team, patients and their health care providers in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assist with providing instructions and care to patients regarding hyperbaric procedures (i.e. safety instructions), including obtaining patient consent for medical record release (HIPAA compliance).
- Under the supervision of Hyperbaric Nurses and Physicians, administer hyperbaric daily pre-screen and check-in of patients for treatment.
- Assist patients into waiting area, change facilities and treatment room and identify items allowed and not allowed in the hyperbaric chamber.
- Instruct patients and their families and other health care professionals with respect to matters related to upcoming hyperbaric treatment.
- Maintain infection prevention and control precautions. Assuring cleanliness of reception area, waiting rooms, and change facilities, including strict observance of restricted access areas.
- Perform office functions/administrative duties (i.e. maintain inventory, order supplies, manage medical appointments, interview patients to complete forms and case histories).
- Enter and format electronically based medical reports and correspondence and prepare spreadsheets and documents for review.
- Complete insurance and other claim forms, and initiate/maintain confidential medical files and records.
- Ensures all medical clinic, study documentation and questionnaires are completed, signed and uploaded in the CHR. Unanswered questions are directed to medical and nursing staff.
- Prepare draft agendas for meetings and take, transcribe and distribute minutes. Prepare financial statements, billing, and sorting/sending mail.
- Establish and maintain various internal office administrative support procedures such as document tracking, filing, and monthly reporting.
- Determine/establish office procedures and routines and supervise and train other staff in procedures and in use of current software.

**Qualifications**
- Completion of secondary school.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
- 2 years experience working in a Hyperbaric Medicine Centre.
- Adept in Hyperbaric Triage between urgent and non-urgent conditions, the specific treatment timing, data collection intervals and coordination of care with referring providers.
- 2 years experience working in a Medical Infusion Centre.
- 2 years experience working with patients suffering from Chronic Refractory Depression requiring ketamine infusion treatment.
- Hyperbaric Primary Certificate.
- Minimum 1 year medical research administration experience.
- Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Certificate.
- Input Health CHR Proficiency.
- 2 years HR experience maintaining staff attendance and payroll records.
- Proficient in using the Connecting Ontario Database.

**Additional Skills**
- Strong, alert administrative skillset with ability to multitask accurately and calmly.
- Aptitude for learning and a willingness to accept direction on given assignments, working collaboratively with medical and administrative staff
- Cultural sensitivity, strong listening skills and ability to work through language barriers

**What We Offer**

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. In addition, our compensation package includes a defined Employee pension, where 5% of earnings are contributed by both employer and employee, which excludes any overtime pay, bonuses, or other special payments. Employee contributions will be deducted from the salary, while the employer portion is in addition to the salary.

Pay: From $28.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
