Accounts Payable Clerk

- Coast Capital Savings (CCS) is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the progress of our corporate initiatives by ensuring invoice and expense claim input into the general ledger is accurate and timely, and payments are made on time. You will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate controls are followed. Your due diligence, positive and can-do attitude will help the team move forward with continuous process improvement initiatives within the accounts payable group.**What you’ll get to do**:

- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to facilitate payment and to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure all invoices and expense claims submitted are approved and details are accurate, including vendor information, GL and cost center coding.
- Accurate input of vendor information, invoices, expense claims, and applicable intercompany entries into the Microsoft Dynamics Navision (GL system).
- Ensure deposits are made appropriately and accurately to each of the CCS companies.
- Process payment of invoices and expense claims via EFT, cheques or wires within tight timelines.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and assist in balancing accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger including communicating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare accounts payable system reports.
- Identify process and system improvements related to AP.
- Supports completion of process and system improvement projects, including user acceptance testing.
- Contribute to team effort and assist with other duties and projects as required.
- Document and update procedures and policies for accounts payable as required and ensure adherence to policy and controls.
- Act as back up for other team members and cross train to provide coverage during vacation and sick days.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of job-related experience. Minimum of two to three years of work experience in a high volume, computerized accounts payable department. Comfortable with most aspects of processing accounts payable and basic general ledger tasks.
- High School Diploma plus some additional post-secondary courses. Preferably post-secondary courses in basic accounting or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Working knowledge of any accounting software and ability to learn any new accounting software.
- Good typing speed with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV) will be an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize critical job functions to manage time and workflows.
- Proactive, continuous improvement mindset with ability and desire to coordinate and implement process and system improvements.
