**BMI Ltd is helping St. John’s Anglican Church of Lunenburg, NS hire a Parish Administrator.**

**Primary Responsibilities**

Reporting directly to the Rector, the Parish Administrator will ensure the efficient administration of the parish office, supporting the Rector, Wardens and various committees as they carry out the work of their respective ministries.

**Essential Job Functions/Tasks**
In meeting the primary responsibilities, the tasks of Parish Administrator will include, but are not limited to, the following:
**Regular Duties**
- Answers the Parish telephone and manages messaging system
- Supports the Rector and other ministry team members with typing, photocopying, mailing and other administrative needs
- Handles all incoming mail and responds/re-directs as necessary
- Prints and prepares letters and envelopes for parish mailings/distribution
- Maintains adequate inventory of all office supplies
- Collects ministry reports and assembles, produces and distributes the annual report
- Manages the distribution of keys to Parish facilities
- First point of contact for event rentals of the Parish facilities and works with the Rental Committee to secure and manage the event
- Keeps parish calendar up-to-date
- Informs the Sexton/Custodian of all events and parish activities as needed
- Attends Parish Council meetings and AGM as recording secretary distributing agenda and typing up and distributing minutes
- Assigns lectors to read scripture lessons for all services
- Prepares weekly Sunday and special worship bulletins
- Completes all wedding, funeral, confirmation and baptism registers and documents as required
- Works with the newsletter editor to prepare and distribute all newsletters
- Posts bulletin board materials and keep the board neat and up to date
- Enters all parish offerings into the church computer system (Power Church)
- Maintains an up-to-date Parish list of all parishioners and contact information

**Job Requirements**
**Nature of the Work**
- The intermittent nature of visitors and inquiries will require the Parish Administrator to be interrupted during administrative tasks in order to greet and assist people
- As the “face of the Parish” for all callers and visitors, being pleasant and pastorally sensitive for all who enter the parish office or seek ministry over the telephone is critical

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 - 30 per week

**Salary**: $16.50-$17.50 per hour
