Orillia, Canada RNR Patient Transfer Services Full time

The Dispatch/Office Assistant receives phone requests for non-emergency medical transportation, determines the appropriate equipment, staff, resources, response times and maintains acts as a liaison between the office and driving attendants communicating schedules, daily locations, appointments, check-in points, etc. Coordination of transportation activities and communication of information to internal and external customers is a major part of the role.

The position requires a considerable degree of initiative and independent judgment. The work may be done separately or in conjunction with other call takers and dispatchers. Dispatchers / Office Assistants complete additional administrative tasks including filing and electronic file updates, scheduling, record keeping, auditing, gas receipt reconciliation, etc. and may assist in training new employees.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Skills in observing situations analytically and objectively and relaying details accurately

- Geographic knowledge of Ontario with skills in reading and interpreting maps to plan routes and determine locations
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills to interact with patient, families, doctors and unit staff
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to remain calm under pressure including handling potential emergencies along with heavy workloads.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of operating multi-line telephone systems

**Terms**

Daytime shifts with the ability to work a variety of shift times including mornings, days, afternoons, and evenings/nights. Shifts may also include weekends and holidays as needed.

**Salary**: From $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
