**Position Overview**

We are seeking a dedicated **Health and Safety Officer (HSO) **to ensure the safety and well-being of our team in various worksites. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety protocols, training employees, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Health and Safety Leadership**: Take accountability for health and safety performance across all Glen Traffic operations.
- **Protocol Development**: Establish and enforce safe work procedures in compliance with provincial regulations.
- **Training and Inductions**: Conduct health and safety meetings, employee inductions, and on-the-job safety training for all staff.
- **Safety Inspections**: Perform daily inspections and internal audits to identify hazards, reporting results to upper management.
- **Risk Mitigation**: Investigate accidents, serious injuries, and incidents, providing detailed reports with corrective actions.
- **Equipment and Tool Safety**: Ensure all equipment and tools meet safety standards, overseeing their maintenance and safe operation.
- **Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)**: Enforce the proper use of PPE and monitor employee health on the job.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Identify system weaknesses, address unsafe conditions, and propose solutions to enhance safety practices.
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure that all operations adhere to current health and safety regulations and laws.

**Qualifications**:

- In-depth knowledge of COR Certification
- Ability to travel 50-70% of the time for site inspections
- Proficiency in Sitedocs is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Current certifications: Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or NCSO and/or OFA Level 2/3.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar health and safety role.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, COR certification, and experience in compliance monitoring.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Flexible schedule with availability for shift work, including weekends.

**Preferred Assets**
- First aid experience in the construction or traffic control industry.
- Traffic control certification (Flagging) is an asset.
- Experience with safety inspections, audits, and investigations in a similar role.

Pay: $48,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
