**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Human Recourses Coordinator Health, Safety and Wellness will provide key participation in in the development and execution of HR strategies and services with key participation in training initiatives. Enhancing Bissell Centre's ability to advance its human capital to achieve its strategic goals and objectives.

This position will recommend, develop, and deliver HR initiatives, programs and processes in the areas of payroll, recruitment, orientation, training and employee development, retention and engagement as well as in coordination with performance management. The position will also be responsible for providing training guidance and support to managers and staff.

**WHAT IS THE ROLE**
**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Human Resources Strategy and Planning**
- Regularly scan and assess training issues, trends, gaps, and opportunities in employee training. Keep Manager, People & Culture abreast of HR issues, trends, gaps, and opportunities that could impact the organization’s operation. Solution focused in addressing issues and gaps or to realize opportunities.
- Establish and implement strategic and operational plan for training that supports the achievement of Bissell Centre’s broader strategic and operational goals.

**Employee Development**
- Work with program Directors and Managers in the establishment or enhancement of relevant and effective employee training and development programs.
- Maintain up-to-date database of employee training files and requirements and work with managers to ensure that employee training is completed in timely manner.
- Provide guidance and assistance to managers, as requested, in the professional development and succession plans with training needs.

**Internal Training**
- Coordination of facilitators for all internal training sessions including but not limited to
- Conflict to Calm
- Naloxone training
- First Aid external bookings for employees
- Creation and maintenance of internal training schedule
- Tracking and booking internal needs for train the trainer for internal courses

**External Trainings Development**
- Coordination of external requests for training of staff on;
- Conflict to Calm
- Naloxone
- Diligently monitor and ensure the financial health, operational efficiency, and productivity of existing external trainings
- Seek, examine, and when applicable, procure opportunities to advance and grow existing training model
- Seek, examine, and propose partnerships and/or opportunities to establish new opportunities that would support Bissell Centre’s vision and mission.

**Policy and Procedure Administration and Employee Relations Management**
- Develop and ensure adherence to Human Resources polices and processes that are both compliant with relevant employment legislations as well as supportive of the organization’s strategic, operational and human resources management goals.
- Guide and support managers in employee relations matters (human rights, performance management, discipline, termination, employment standards and legislations, work injury case management, classification and compensation, etc.) and in the preparation of relevant documentations.

**Employee Development and Performance Management Assistance**
- Work with program Directors and Managers in the establishment or enhancement of relevant and effective employee training and development programs.
- Maintain up-to-date performance appraisal requirements and work with managers to ensure that they are completed in timely manner.
- Provide guidance and assistance to managers, as requested, in the completion of performance evaluations and in the handling of performance consults.
- As needed, ensure Developmental Appraisals are completed on schedule and documented in staff files

**Additional Human Resources Duties**
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date job descriptions and skills inventory.
- Organize and conduct HR orientation for new employees.
