**OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE**
Venture Steel, a leading national steel service center, headquartered in Canada with offices in Detroit, Michigan, Buffalo, New York, and Mexico is seeking a talented addition to our staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven outside sales representative for our Ontario office to generate leads and drive sales. This position will be responsible for maintaining, growing, and servicing existing customer accounts through, targeting sales accounts, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring accurate communication. This role works closely with the inside sales team, production, vendors, and customers. The Outside Sales Representative will also build relationships and bring in new business through selling value added services and cold calling.
**Job Duties**
- Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers
- Creating and presenting persuasive sales proposals to customers to encourage sales and repeat business
- Travelling within an assigned area to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers
- Developing and implementing an effective strategy to drive sales
- Identifying and establishing contact with potential customers
- Maintaining accurate records of all leads, customer accounts, and sales
- Researching competitors’ products and prices as well as market conditions
- Supporting special projects and performing other duties as assigned
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Steel industry sales or related experience
- Residence in or near the geographic sales territory
- Excellent customer service and sales skills, including cold-calling and negotiation
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately enter/maintain information
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to maintain a schedule while working remotely
- Existing knowledge of customers in sales territory a plus
