**Manager of Environmental Services**:
Are you passionate about protecting the environment while providing services for the community? If so, this might be the job for you

The City of Mission is looking for a Manager of Environmental Services to manage the City’s environmental services programs, such as the landfill, curbside collection, watercourse protection, and climate action programs. This position also provides corporate and strategic advice for a range of environmental initiatives and policies. This position will also enact the Environmental Charter.

More specifically, in this role you will manage a team that promotes the City’s environmental sustainability program by planning, developing and implementing the City’s environmental programs and initiatives, such as solid waste management (landfill, curbside collection, recycling depot, compost facility). You will look after the ecosystems including watercourse and riparian area protection, wildlife management, species-at-risk and invasives management. Climate action and energy management, air emissions and quality, aquifers and ground water, slope stability and contaminated soil also fall into your portfolio.

You will need your excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills as you represent the City to both internal and external stakeholders. Your business sense and financial acumen will assist you in developing and monitoring budgets, contracts, and business plans. Your knowledge of legislation and regulatory regimes will help you ensure the City’s compliance to these regulations.

This excluded position offers a wage rate commensurate with your qualifications and experience along with a comprehensive benefits package, municipal pension plan, a 9-day fortnight work schedule and the opportunity to work with an excellent team.

Education : Bachelor’s degree
Experience : 5 years or more
