**Pipelayer**:
**FULL-TIME; 4-DAY WORK WEEK**

When you hear people talking about pipes, do you automatically think of water, sanitary and storm utilities? Are you hard-working, have excellent work ethic and thrive in a busy work environment?

If so, this opportunity may be the right fit for you because we are looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious Pipelayer to perform skilled and semi-skilled work related to the construction, operations, repair, maintenance and installation of water, sanitary and storm mains and services throughout the City.

You will be a high school graduate (or equivalent) and you also have post-secondary technical training related to this type of work and a minimum of two years’ experience in all aspects of municipal or civil pipelaying work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

You will have completed Water Distribution System Operator Level 1 and Waste Water Collection System Operation Level 1 as per the BC Environmental Operators Certification program. You will have knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work as it relates to current codes and standards. You must have your Traffic Control Person certification and a valid BC driver's license for the equipment operated. A valid forklift operator’s certificate would be an asset.

The 2023 hourly rate for this full-time CUPE position is $33.46 per hour with a comprehensive benefit package upon successful completion of the probation period including the Municipal Pension Plan. The hours of work for this position are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (72 hours biweekly).
