The Manager, Seniors, Settlement and Early Years will report to the Director of Programs and is empowered to manage the day-to-day operational activities in several key areas. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction in these three program departments, as well as being a member of the leadership team which supports the development and implementation of the society’s strategic plans, policies, and overall culture.

**What you’ll do**

**Seniors**
Support the Senior's Connection, Meals on Wheels, and Better at Home programs, which serve the senior population in Mission. The Manager will work alongside staff to identify client needs, challenges, and potential risks, as well as to devise and execute short-term intervention plans tailored to specific issues. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Seniors programming, ensuring smooth functioning and efficient delivery of services.

**Settlement**
Help new Canadians settle into the District of Mission. This includes delivering settlement services to local secondary schools and the broader community. Collaborating closely with each member of the Settlement Team, the Manager will ensure the seamless delivery of services to our community. Moreover, the Manager will actively support initiatives aimed at making the District of Mission a more welcoming community for newcomers.

**Early Years**
Promote the healthy development of children from birth to age 6 by delivering educational workshops, training, information sessions, drop-in groups, special events and referrals to other community services.

**What you bring**
- Post-secondary diploma in Human Services in a relevant field of study, plus a minimum 2 years' experience in a human service supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, professional training, and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently as well as demonstrated teamwork and team building skills.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Demonstrated understanding of diverse political viewpoints and cultural practices within the community.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to privacy.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check is required.
- Able to provide a copy of all relevant degrees and certifications related to this role.
- Certification in First Aid and MANDT or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Valid B.C. Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
- Ability to understand and maintain clientele/worker boundaries.
