We are seeking an adaptable, detail-oriented, and strong communicator and leader in early childhood education, who will be accountable for leading and collaborating on the development of College policy, initiatives and resources related to supporting members to understand and adhere to the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_, and to understand and comply with the College’s Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program.
Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, the key areas of responsibility are to:
- Work on professional practice issues using a policy lifecycle approach.
- Write and edit resources (e.g., standards, practice guidelines, practice notes, website content, articles, briefing notes, memos) based on College policy for members and stakeholders (e.g., Standards of Practice Committee) related to the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_, the CPL Program, and the early learning and child care sector.
- Conduct research, analyze data and develop recommendations to meet the College’s objectives related to the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_ and the CPL Program.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide customized practice guidance with members of the profession who have been identified as needing practice support.
- Review and provide feedback from a professional practice and policy perspective on proposed policies, reports and communication materials developed by other departments.
- Advise, communicate and collaborate on College initiatives with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., participate in strategic planning, collaborate with external member groups on developing resources and College programs).
- Provide policy support and advice to the Standards of Practice Committee. Prepare draft agendas, minutes, resolutions and reports to Council. Lead discussions to solicit feedback on specific content (e.g., practice issues, resources, reports). Contribute to the development and facilitation of the Committee’s orientation, learning and development, and multi-year work plan.
- Develop and deliver content for presentations, workshops and consultations with members and stakeholders to provide information about the College’s professional practice programs and resources (e.g., _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_, the CPL Program).
- Manage projects (e.g., develop scope/plan, manage timelines, present updates) to conduct research and develop resources related to the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_, the CPL Program, and the early learning and child care sector.
- Communicate with members and stakeholders (e.g., employers, government) on issues, concerns and questions related to professional practice and the College (e.g., relevant legislation, resources, the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_, the CPL program, and the early learning and child care sector).
- Proactively identify potential issues of professional practice and strategic relevance to the department and/or College by actively scanning activities in other regulatory bodies, professional associations, and other stakeholder groups.
- Keep up-to-date with applicable legislation, trends and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Four-year college or university program in early childhood education or a related field (e.g., education, social sciences).
- Registered Early Childhood Educator.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience including experience in the early learning and child care sector.
- Knowledge of the _Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007_,_ Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_ and the CPL program_._
- Research, analytical and judgement skills to conduct research, analyze data and develop recommendations to meet the College’s objectives related to the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_ and the CPL program.
- Flexibility to work well independently and in a team in an environment with changing priorities.
- Written communication skills to prepare a variety of written materials (e.g., presentations, briefing notes, reports, practice resources) for members and other stakeholders related to professional practice.
