Position Description:


This dynamic role offers an opportunity to build your leadership experience with the mentorship and support of the entire Collaborative for Professional Practice team, including the Associate Chief Nursing Practice, Senior Manager, Professional Practice, Professional Practice Coordinator, Supply Chain, and Clinical Nurse Specialists, Interprofessional Practice - among many others.


As part of this new role, the Professional Practice Coordinator will lead and support exciting initiatives promoting excellence in safe and effective nursing and interprofessional practice.

This role will enable excellence through supporting medical directives, nurse credentialing, and RNAO Best Practice Spotlight (BPSO) designation requirements.

The Collaborative for Professional Practice is the portfolio that advances care in the context of nursing and interprofessional delivery of child and family-centred care.

We serve the diverse needs of nurses and interprofessionals to lead change and promote systems thinking.

The Collaborative is a uniquely positioned office that collaborates in developing, implementing and evaluating processes, structures, and models of care that facilitate our healthcare workforce to perform to their best.


Given the dynamic nature of practice issues across the organization, the Collaborative provides crucial leadership to maintain and develop networks across stakeholder groups.

The Collaborative facilitates information exchange and enables partnerships to advance interprofessional paediatric and nursing practice locally, provincially, and nationally.

Here's what you'll get to do

  • Coordinate and support aspects of Medical Directives processes in collaboration with the Medical Directives Committee Co-Chairs.
  • Manage the annual nurse credentialing process, including ongoing support to drive excellence in nurse credential oversight.
  • Act as the organizational lead and support for oversight of the Hospital's RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) designation.
  • Partner with the Collaborative for Professional Practice team to monitor strategic metrics, including data analysis, synthesis, and presentation.
  • Partner to support critical projects in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Interprofessional Practice.
  • Perform other responsibilities as the Collaborative for Professional Practice strategic plan evolves.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Minimum of four years working in the paediatric healthcare setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Masterslevel preparation in nursing, healthcare quality or related field (in progress accepted)
  • Registration with the College of Nurses on Ontario
  • Interest in building knowledge in nursing regulation and legislation that guides nursing and interprofessional practice
  • Strong ability to collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills, and proven ability to successfully establish relationships
  • Demonstrated project coordination skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerBI, Forms, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to complete literature reviews, analysis, and synthesize information for presentation to key stakeholders
  • Solid problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative, selfdirected, innovative, adaptive, results
