This ground-breaking new service is available 24/7/365 and accessible to everyone from coast to coast to coast.

The 9-8-8 National Hub plays a pivotal role in providing front line service for the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline. The 9-8-8 National Hub provides 24/7 service via phone and text modalities.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Provide crisis intervention support via phone and text following 9-8-8 and CAMH defined policies and practices.
- Answer calls and texts, complete risk and safety assessment, de-escalate, and safety plan.
- Work collaboratively and compassionately with those reaching out.
- Schedule and complete follow-up calls as required in alignment with standard operating procedures.
- Establish safety using the least intrusive means necessary. This may involve contacting emergency services to ensure safety of callers/texters.
- Consult and take direction from supervisors for challenges that arise.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed reports, documenting all required/identified data points.
- Complete legally required reporting.
- Maintain familiarity with 9-8-8 database of essential national resources and provide as needed to callers and texters.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the ethical and legal standards of 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline.
- Participate in regular quality assurance assessment of skills.
- Other duties as required/assigned.

La ligne d’aide 9-8-8 est actuellement à la recherche de un Intervenants bilingues à temps partiel, permanent. Le rôle de l’intervenant est de soutenir le centre national du 9-8-8 : Ligne d'aide en cas de crise de suicide et de fournir un soutien en matière d'intervention en cas de crise aux personnes qui le sollicitent. Les intervenants utilisent un modèle d'intervention dont les composantes essentielles sont les suivantes : s’engager activement auprès des appelants et des texteurs, les écouter pour comprendre ce qu'ils vivent, évaluer le risque de suicide et les points forts, amener de l’espoir et explorer les raisons de vivre, résoudre les problèmes en collaboration, planifier la sécurité et établir un lien avec d'autres ressources et services, le cas échéant.

**Responsabilités principales**
- Fournir un soutien de crise par téléphone et par messages textes, conformément aux politiques et pratiques définies par 9-8-8 et CAMH.
- Appliquer les techniques et les protocoles de prévention du suicide afin d'évaluer efficacement le risque de suicide de la personne, d'intervenir de façon appropriée et de fournir des ressources supplémentaires au besoin.
- Travailler au sein d'une équipe cohésive pendant les quarts de travail, composée de superviseurs et d'autres intervenants.
- Répondre aux appels et messages textes, effectuer des évaluations du risque suicidaire, désamorcer les situations dangereuses et établir des plans de sécurité.
- Assister les personnes en détresse dans un esprit de collaboration et de compassion.
- Planifier et effectuer les appels de suivi nécessaires, conformément aux procédures opérationnelles standard.
- Assurer la sécurité en utilisant les moyens les moins intrusifs possibles. Cela peut impliquer de contacter les services d'urgence pour assurer la sécurité des appelants/texteurs.
- Consulter les superviseurs et suivre leurs instructions en cas de problème.
- Rédiger, en temps opportun, des rapports précis et détaillés, en documentant toutes les données ponctuelles requises/observées.
- Remplir les rapports exigés par la loi.
- Se familiariser avec la base de données 9-8-8 des ressources nationales essentielles et la fournir, le cas échéant, aux personnes qui appellent ou envoient des messages textes.
