**WE ARE RECRUITING FOR AN ACCOUNTING CLERK/TECHNICIAN.**

Contract position for a maternity leave.

Madrone Environmental Services is a growing mid-size environmental consulting practice based in British Columbia. Our head office is located on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley. At the heart of Madrone are our people. Our team of professionals include Agrologists, Biologists, Engineers, Foresters, Geoscientists, Environmental Scientists and GIS

Analysists. We provide a variety of consulting services focused on the environmental aspects of land management. We offer a flexible work environment with a competitive salary and health benefits.

**Role of Accounting Technician**:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Technician supports delivery of all organizational financial functions. This includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, project accounting support, etc. They will also work closely with the Manager to develop, document, and implement internal control policies and procedures.

Your role will entail:

- Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Completing all accounting activities from invoicing to reconciliations.
- Providing support on financial queries from staff to clients.
- Providing recommendations to the Finance Manager on improving systems.
- Documenting and implementing processes.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Formal bookkeeping certifications.
- Minimum five years accounting experience.
- Attention to detail, above average analytical and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, pro-active and self-directed.
- Client minded with a customer service background.
- QuickBooks-Desktop, QuickBooks-Online and BQE Core experience an asset.

Madrone is supportive of the work location being a combination of home and office-based work locations. However, for training purposes, the initial several weeks will be situated in the office. This position is also available to be supported solely office-based.

Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
