**Position Responsibilities**- The MLA program is a one-certificate program that prepares the graduate for an exciting and challenging career as a Medical Laboratory Assistant.- During the year-long program, students will study phlebotomy, urinalysis, histology, and microbiology. Students will be trained to collect, process, and prepare patient specimens, enter data, perform clerical and reception services, perform electrocardiograms and urinalysis, and carry out basic laboratory procedures.- The MLA program provides exceptional opportunities to work closely with students, faculty and staff in an innovative, supportive environment that promotes creativity, scholarship, and commitment to student success. RDP offers an excellent professional development program that helps faculty to continuously develop skills, knowledge, and expertise specific to teaching and learning as well as their respective discipline.- Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
- Teaching students in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings with flexibility for both face-to-face and online course delivery.
- Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment.
- Preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material.
- Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work.
- Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students.
- Actively contributing and participating in program planning, curriculum development & review, project work, and scholarly activity.
- Participating in School and Polytechnic-wide initiatives and/or committees.
- Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP, which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy.
- Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices.

**Required Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma in related discipline
- Current registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
- Recent clinical / practical experience (minimum 5 years)
- Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments
- Proven commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice
- Driver’s License
- Police Information Check
- Current immunizations as per RDP requirements

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment
- Registered as member of the CMLTA
